Positive Peer Pressure

I do enjoy writing. Well, I enjoy the output of writing. It’s been about 6 months, though, since I last wrote.

It’s a new year and my experiment with JonathanOS continues. I’ve thought about moving an update on progress from my head to the keyboard and just didn’t feel motivated enough for one reason or another. Maybe someday soon.

Today, though, something clicked.

My brother, Joshua, welcomed me into a new group chat the other week and in context of an ongoing series of conversations I’ve been enjoying, I’ve kept being exposed to what has become a prolific amount of output from the guy.

It’s January 17 and he’s already published 57 pieces on his blog.

Another member of the group chat, Saadia Carbis, kicked off a new blog this year and I suspect that more of the group have stories in queue.

My fiancé also turns out a great new piece every few months.

It hit me today, I like how I’m feeling about it all. I’m comfortable with my pace and I also noticed myself feeling inspired by what the folks around me are doing. It reminds me that “huh, I can do that too.”

Here’s to positive peer pressure.
