Meeting Anna Nalick - Jonathan Wold

Today was a lot of fun ;). It started on a bit of a low.. My web hosting business was suddenly crippled by a server that’d gone offline. I didn’t get much sleep last night as a result and it wasn’t until this morning that things were finally cleared up. A HUGE thanks to my good friend Jerett who helped me clean things up and get back online. You’re the man! :)

Then, Ted and I worked for a couple of hours before heading off into town. We were planning to play some basketball but mutually agreed that, as beat up as we were from yesterday’s game, we could wait a day or two ;).

So, we headed off to Dairy Queen, a restaraunt I haven’t been in for years.. Had 2 large ‘shakes’.. developed a few marketing strategies.. *grins*.. and then headed off to seeee..

Anna Nalick!

Doesn’t ring a bell? I didn’t know of her either ’till about 2 weeks ago. I heard her song, “Breathe” on the radio and I was hooked. She has some absolutely amazing lyrics, which is a very rare find these days. Her voice is awesome on top of all that. Ted had heard it a few times and so he shared it with me. We were talking about it when the radio guy announced that she’d be making a stop at Borders in Portland!

There are quite a few Borders around, but as it turns out she landed in the one about 2 miles from here :).

It was an awesome show.. She has a very good stage presence, an awesome attitude, and she’s great with the fans. Yes.. poor me.. After a song she called me ’bout my hair.. said she loved it, hehe. Needless to say, I’m a fan of hers now ;).

Ted bought me a copy of her CD as a gift and she signed them for us after a good hour wait in line. Ted and I admired Border’s seemingly infinite collection of Star Wars novels while we waited.. Man, the crowd was very interesting, SUCH a mix. There were quite a few adults, people of ALL ages, and surprisingly, not that many young people. We’ll see how that changes as time goes by.

Anyway, it was a fun show :). All the best to Anna, keep up the great work!
